Pathways
Teen boys today are growing up in a world that gives them endless stimulation, but very little guidance. That’s why we created Pathways!
Many are disconnected from healthy male role models. Through Pathways, our mentors help boys reconnect with guidance, purpose, and belonging.
Many boys struggle silently with motivation, identity, and belonging—while the deeper questions of who they are becoming and what kind of men they want to be are rarely addressed.
Journeymen Asheville exists to change that.
Through Pathways, we offer boys a space to grow, connect, and find purpose.

“What Happens in Pathways?”
Pathways is Journeymen’s community-based mentoring program for teen boys. Throughout the year, boys come together with trained adult mentors for outdoor adventures, skill-building activities, service projects, workouts, and mentoring circles. The activities change through the year, so it’s always engaging and fun, but the point is deeper. To give boys real chances to try new things, to challenge themselves, and to build genuine relationships with positive male role models. And it’s more than just activities. Our mentors create a space where boys can talk openly about what’s going on in their lives, learn from each other, and explore questions about confidence, relationships, responsibility, purpose, and the kind of young men they want to become. We don’t lecture boys or tell them who to be. Instead, we offer a supportive community where they can be themselves. develop practical and emotional skills, and grow alongside other young men and trusted adults.
We don’t just support boys. We help initiate the men they are becoming.

Participants not only have fun with each other and our mentors, but also discover new ways to apply themselves in the “real world” by expanding their idea of what’s possible for their lives and how they can apply themselves.
